This badge is awarded to learners who have earned the Inclusive Design Method micro-credential. This course will focus on learning the Inclusive Design technique used to provide evidence-based research in business problems. Students will learn the practical, iterative, people-centred technique utilized by Design Council.

Essential Employability Skills
Mandated by the Government of Ontario. All graduates with the following Ontario College credentials, Ontario College Certificate, Ontario College Diploma and Ontario College Advanced Diploma, must be able to reliably demonstrate the Essential Employability Skills required in each of the following six categories: Communication, Numeracy, Critical thinking & problem solving, Information management, Interpersonal and Personal.
Criteria
The recipient of this micro-credential has demonstrated the ability to:
- Apply the Double Diamond 4 step process of Discover, Define, Develop and Deliver, in the process of discovering and developing inclusive solutions.
- Conduct the appropriate activity within each step.
- Utilize inclusive tools to conduct research.
- Integrate dimensions of diversity including age, ability, gender, race, finance, education, social, institutional, economic and cultural tensions into problem-solving.
- Construct an inclusive checklist to be applied to any product, environment or service.
- Engage and communicate using contemporary disability identity language.
By providing:
A final presentation in which students investigate a business problem using the five separate phases leading to appropriate recommendations.
And by reflecting on the entire process by:
Answering one or more of the following questions (at the discretion of the instructor) as part of a mock interview style assignment:
- What skills do you now possess that align with AODA standards?
- When would you use the Double Diamond 4 Step process?
- How will you use contemporary disability identity language?
- Describe the role of the Inclusive checklist in your final assignment?
- What setbacks or challenges did you encounter and how did this micro-credential help you to overcome the challenges?
