This badge is awarded to Digital Health Hackathon participants who have successfully collaborated in a virtual team over a 4-day period to creatively address problems and issues faced by stakeholders in their selected challenge set. They analyzed the problem, designed, developed, and demonstrated an innovative solution to an expert judging panel.

Essential Employability Skills
Mandated by the Government of Ontario. All graduates with the following Ontario College credentials, Ontario College Certificate, Ontario College Diploma and Ontario College Advanced Diploma, must be able to reliably demonstrate the Essential Employability Skills required in each of the following six categories: Communication, Numeracy, Critical thinking & problem solving, Information management, Interpersonal and Personal.
Criteria
The recipient of this micro-credential has demonstrated the ability to:
- Analyze digital health industry stakeholder groups and select a challenge.
- Define, scope, and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements of a potential solution.
- Design a feasible system representing the solution vision including User Interface, Data Organization, Logic/Processes/Behaviour, Security/Privacy.
- Model system behaviour and structure using methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Create a prototype system, Proof of Technology, Proof of Concept, or mock-up solution.
- Effectively communicate their innovation to stakeholders and judging panel.
- Adhere to hackathon ethical and professional guidelines.
By providing the following as evidence:
- A 5-minute mp4 video submission including a project overview, design description, demonstration and lessons learned
- All artifacts and/or code developed during the hackathon
- Judging and scorecard by an independent panel of subject experts
- Active collaboration with event organizers, team members, and participation in event social media
