This badge is awarded to Digital Health Hackathon team members who have successfully collaborated in a virtual team to creatively address problems and issues faced by stakeholders in their selected challenge set. They analyzed the problem, then designed, developed, and demonstrated an innovative solution to an industry judging panel over the course of 4 days period in a competitive setting. Their solution was selected by the judging panel as the best in the category.

Essential Employability Skills
Mandated by the Government of Ontario. All graduates with the following Ontario College credentials, Ontario College Certificate, Ontario College Diploma and Ontario College Advanced Diploma, must be able to reliably demonstrate the Essential Employability Skills required in each of the following six categories: Communication, Numeracy, Critical thinking & problem solving, Information management, Interpersonal and Personal.
Criteria
The recipient of this micro-credential has demonstrated the ability to:
- Analyze digital health industry stakeholder groups and their challenges
- Define, scope, and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements for a potential solution to a specific challenge use case
- Design a feasible system representing the solution vision the team has agreed to including User Interface, Data Organization, Logic/Processes/Behaviour, Security/Privacy
- Model system behaviour and structure using methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Create a prototype system, Proof of Technology, Proof of Concept, or mock-up solution
- Effectively communicate their innovative solution vision to stakeholders and judging panel
- Adhere to hackathon ethics and professional guidelines
By providing the following as evidence:
- A 5-minute mp4 video submission including a project overview, design description, demonstration and lessons learned
- All artifacts and/or code developed during the hackathon
- Judged as best in category by an independent panel of subject experts including feasibility of solution, level of completion, quality of presentation and level of innovation
- Active collaboration with event organizers, team members, and participation in event social media
