This badge is awarded to Seneca faculty for the completion of the Universal Design for Learning online course and the application of UDL principles to lesson plans and assessments.

Criteria
The recipient has demonstrated the ability to
- describe the theories and the three principles of Universal Design for Learning as they relate to post-secondary learning,
- evaluate one course they teach according to Universal Design for Learning principles,
- modify a current lesson plan to reflect the principle of multiple means of representation,
- adapt a current method of assessment to demonstrate multiple means of action and expression,
by submitting the following evidence:
- a reflection on the myth of average and one’s current teaching practice
- a summary of UDL principles and their application to a current course
- a report on an online assessment of a course
- a current lesson plan and adapted revision to reflect the principle of multiple means of representation
- a current method of assessment adapted for multiple means of action and expression.
